Taking the Leap for Charity: My Tandem Skydive for Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith

On Saturday, 19th April 2025, I’ll be facing one of the most exhilarating (and terrifying) challenges of my life. I’ll be taking part in a charity tandem skydive at Tilstock Airfield to raise money for Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith, two incredible charities that provide essential palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions, as well as their families.

Why I'm Doing This

I’ve always admired the incredible work that Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith do to support families facing unimaginable challenges. These charities provide vital care for children with life-limiting conditions, but they don’t stop there. They also offer emotional support, respite care, and a safe space for families to share their journey with others who truly understand. The work they do isn’t just about providing medical care – it’s about creating an environment of compassion, love, and support for families at the most difficult times in their lives.

Both Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith are more than just medical centers – they’re places of comfort and peace, offering families the ability to create precious memories together and, when the time comes, supporting them through the most difficult goodbyes. In the face of these challenging circumstances, these charities ensure families know they’re not alone.

When I first learned about the services Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith provide, I was truly moved. I knew I had to find a way to contribute to the amazing work they do, and so, I decided to take on the ultimate challenge – a skydive. Yes, I’ll be jumping out of an airplane (don’t worry, I’m attached to a professional skydiver, so hopefully, I’ll make it safely back to earth!) to raise funds for this worthy cause.

The Goal: Raising £1000 for Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith

My goal is to raise £1000 through this skydive, and I need your help to reach it. Every single donation, no matter how big or small, will directly support the work of these incredible charities. Your generosity will go towards ensuring that Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith can continue providing life-changing care to children and families who need it most. Whether it’s providing a family with a night of respite or helping cover the costs of essential care, every penny counts.

I’m hoping to make a real difference, and with your help, I believe we can reach this goal together. I’m fully committed to doing my part, so all I ask is for your support in any way you can.

Why It Matters

The importance of the work Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith do cannot be overstated. These charities help families navigate some of the most difficult and heartbreaking situations anyone can imagine. Not only do they provide medical care, but they also give families the time and space to create memories, cherish moments together, and have support when they need it most.

In my own life, I’ve witnessed the power of community and the impact of having support through tough times. I can only imagine how much more vital this is for families facing the unimaginable. That’s why I’ve chosen to take part in this challenge – to give back to the community and make sure Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith can continue their work without interruption. They rely on the generosity of people like you to keep doing what they do, and I’m hoping we can contribute to that.

How You Can Help

I’m asking for your support to help me achieve my fundraising goal of £1000. I know times can be tough, but every little donation adds up, and no contribution is too small. If you’re unable to donate, you can still help by spreading the word and sharing this blog with your friends, family, and networks. The more people who know about this cause, the more likely we are to reach our goal.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Make a Donation: You can donate directly through my fundraising page (link below). Every penny you give will go directly to Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith, helping them continue their vital work.

  2. Share the Blog: If you can’t donate right now, I completely understand. Please consider sharing this blog with others who might be able to help. Raising awareness is just as important as raising funds.

  3. Offer Words of Encouragement: As I prepare for the skydive, your words of support will mean the world to me. Every message or comment will give me the strength and motivation to take that leap (literally)!

I’ll be jumping for something much bigger than myself – for families who need support, for children who need care, and for those who rely on the life-changing services of Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith. With your help, we can make a huge difference.

Thank You

I can’t thank you enough for your generosity and support. Whether you donate, share, or simply cheer me on, it means the world to me. I’m excited to take on this challenge for a cause that’s close to my heart, and I’m hopeful that, with your support, we can make a real difference for those who need it most.

Together, we can help ensure that Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith continue to provide love, care, and support for years to come.
